James Kendall

Financial Advisor Assistant

A life-long Monterey Peninsula resident, James Kendall was born and raised in Pacific Grove, California. James has always been interested in business and his introduction to becoming an entrepreneur began at a young age.  He was five when Susan started her own business as Susan Kendall CPA and Kendall Financial Services. Over the years by watching Susan run her business James learned what it takes to overcome obstacles and create a business from scratch.

He had a first-hand look at what it meant to run a successful business. His early experiences

of being exposed to an entrepreneurial environment provided James with a great foundation which have helped James develop strong character traits and excellent work ethics.

James moved to San Luis Obispo after graduating from Pacific Grove High School. He attended Columbia College where he completed his B.S in Business Administration with honors in 2013. During college James worked in the hospitality industry which allowed him to refine his customer relationship and service skills.

"Treating people with respect and sincerity are two of the most important aspects of life and business," says James. "While working in the hospitality industry I learned that people always remember how you make them feel, not necessarily what you say. It is the experience they have that stands out in people's minds." James learned that attention to detail, persistence, integrity and focusing on the client are all key ingredients to building outstanding relationships.

James is also a big believer in giving-back to the Community.  He is an active member on the board of local organizations, such as the Hospice Giving Foundation, Monterey Commercial Property Owner’s Association, Salinas City Center Improvement Association and the Carmel Valley Land Use Committee. James has also enjoyed (prior to Covid-19) volunteering at major race events held at the Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca.

James lives in Carmel Valley, California with his wife Nikki and their two young sons. He is fluent in Spanish. He is an avid reader and loves to travel. James spends his free time with his family, and enjoys hiking and biking the beautiful Carmel Valley and Big Sur countryside.
